Punto Banco

The scoring is the same as in the Chemin de Fer. The cards are immediately turned with an 8 o, even better, with a 9, which is the highest point; in this case the punter must stand (the banker’s move is technically called ‘abatage’). The highest point wins. The main difference with Chemin de Fer is that you can bet on both the player, ‘punto’ and the bank, ‘banco’.

Remember, if the total is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 you can draw, provided that the bank does total 8 or 9. The bank, instead, when dealing the player his third card, must follow the so-called ‘rule’.

If the bank totals 3 and unless the player’s hand totals 8 the bank must draw him a third card; if the bank totals 4 and the player totals 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, the bank must draw him a third card. If the bank totals 5 and the player totals 4, 5, 6 or 7, the bank must draw him a third card. If 6, the bank draws the player a third card only if he has 6 or 7. If 7, and in all other cases, the banker remains with two cards. If the bank totals 8 or 9... you did well if you placed you bet on him!
